: BICENTENNIAL OF PAINTING COMPETITION:


BASES is open to all artists who want it.
The theme selected for 2011 is the Bicentennial, under which next year will begin to "Bicentennial Celebration East Emancipation Process in the context of the struggles of American people for self-determination and independence, recognizing the central role of the figure of José Artigas in them. " In this sense, assessing the original presentation of the proposed topic.
The technique of the work will be free.
Each artist will present one of his works to be unpublished, original and exclusive consequence of their property. The dimensions of the same shall be a maximum of 200 by 200 cm. and at least 73 by 60 cm. The works must be presented in short and solid. The work will be given signed on the back, which clearly contain the full name of the artist and title of the review, if the artist considers it necessary.
Works will be received from February 11 at 10:00 pm until May 11 at 10:00 hours at the offices of the Directorate General for Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cologne 1206, Plant Low).
The Foreign Ministry will heat up in the care of the works, but will not accept any responsibility for loss, damage, theft or other acts beyond its control that may occur during transportation, reception, storage, display or return .
After completing the process of reception of the works will proceed to the selection stage, which will be headed by a jury composed of three representatives of public institutions of acknowledged experience in the culture.
Selected works comprise a sample that will be presented in the second half of 2011 in the Sala Figari, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently integrate a traveling exhibition by the countries of MERCOSUR which will be displayed in exhibitions organized by the diplomatic missions of Uruguay.
Within the selected works will establish a first prize worth U.S. $ 3,000, a second prize worth $ 2,000 and honorable mentions as deemed appropriate grant.
The awards and citations will be held in public and solemn ceremony at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
All works in the exhibition will be supported in full ownership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has the rights of exhibition, publishing and reproduction in any medium or digital form thereof.
