:: Lucía Estévez:

time ago I came across a blog full of great creations, which reminded me a lot of those covers and posters of the Beatles colorful and very particular ways made by Heinz Edelmann, to review the blog I realized that was a national artist Lucia Estevez, then I also realized that he was partner in the IENBA workshop.
Lucia is developed in several languages, but the one that most defines their artwork is very personal, fresh and original, all say something, tell a story, relive a moment, typical of an artist who communicates through visual arts.

We invite you to participate in the section ask, and flake a lot with the idea, here are their responses and some of their creations, but invite you to learn all her creations on her blog.
1. Tell us your name and age? Lucia Estevez
Napoli. 23 years (25/07/1987)
2. Where, how, when and why you became an artist?
From an early age I loved to draw, with time I became interested in different forms of artistic expression (dance, volume, painting, etc..) And for A couple of years my interest / frustration was to define myself, to recognize myself in what I do. This year I enrolled in the fourth year of Fine Arts, then began in a workshop on printmaking techniques, and soon got into an area of computer languages for 2D animation, video and mapping. Parallel to this I started with a blog of illustrations, and it was only there with those pictures where I began to define who I am, I can and I enjoy doing. I think that being an artist is like a process, and I'm still in the middle of it.

3. Why create art?
Cause I like, because it's my way of speaking.
4. Worried about the significance of your work, you want fame and glory?
Fame, glory, No.
I'm pretty shy so I prefer the low profile, so if I would be able to do what I do know, as a way of connecting with people.

5. What is art for you?
That question! After years of wondering the same thing I came to the conclusion that it is something that can not be defined, it is totally subjective. No one knows the absolute truth about it, so you better not close in that regard. Art I live the way I like and what I think so without thinking, osea think if you feel something is art with it enough.
6. Do you breathe in something or someone to create?
Yes, the aesthetics of the blog has a great influence of Heinz Edelmann. I love his work and line drawings are well defined. And conceptually inspired me to experiment on things, or sometimes I live through others, and somehow I get.

7. What is your creative process? Live
things, and when I want to express, as I'm not good with words, the drawing. Generally
think from the things that concern me most in the negative. Is a form of catharsis and clean.
8. What materials do you like to use?
I like digital media to illustrate, work more than anything in photoshop.
I also like painting, I do not material but I like it with your fingers and do not use brushes.

9. Is there a Uruguayan artist, or abroad, which interests you very much for your work at this time?
not continue any time. But there are several artists here who do things that seem super interesting, some I know because they are also in Fine Arts, and others who would be good to know.
10. "I create art generates pleasure or effort?
As I said before, is a way to vent, I really do well.

11. Do you prefer to work alone in your "workshop", or with other colleagues in collective processes?
Both, I like being part of a group art projects. But I like doing things alone, where I can be 100% free to do whatever I want.
12. Are you exhibiting at this moment or going to state very soon, something to do somewhere?
now my blog is the only place / gallery where I am showing what I do. Exhibitions
or things like no, but it is something I would like if at any time is possible.

13. What do you do now?, You get to live your artwork?
graphic designer job in a company, but that I have not total creative freedom. What I do outside of it on my own at the moment is not for profit.
14. Are you working or would like to work on a project for the future?
past few months I've been working on several, and I have others to begin. Now I'm in the middle of a project for the area of computer languages, it is to make a video for a band, where he will work with video projections, etc.. While I'm on a draft 2D animation. And I am interested to continue with future video projects and also mapping to a mural, street art.

15. (Bonus track, answer any of the following 3 or las3, or you want) - do you wish you ask?
- What would you have liked to answer? - Have you your own question with its corresponding answer ...
"Why your blog is called Elnumero37?
"Because I have an obsession with that number, I see it everywhere and I think it means something not yet deciphered.

Thanks
Lucia for your participation!
